M. Carlesimo at the EMMYS  M. Carlesimo recently hit the big time, Primetime that is, with our participation in the 2008 60th Annual Emmy Awards! M. Carlesimo was asked to feature our candles in the coveted gift bags given to both presenters and winners. We also had the opportunity to meet and greet all the stars while setting up shop at the GBK “Gifting Suites” at the newly renovated Mondrian Hotel. This year’s telecast was full of surprises everything from the fashions to the unprecedented five celebrity hosts! Another surprise this year was the theme… green. Not green with envy because we got to hang out with all of the celebs, but green for the environment. Eco-friendly products were highlighted because everyone is starting to realize that the time is now to think about our earth’s sustainable future, kudos to PR team extraordinaire, GBK for recognizing that entertainment and environmental awareness can go hand in hand. The vendors represented in the gift bags this year showcased products that are not only fabulous and cutting edge, but also environmentally friendly. The candles were a huge success at the Gifting Suites with stars, PR experts, and industry insiders. The smell of one of our most popular scents, White Sangria, literally permeated the suites and was the talk of the 2 days of fun and giving. Neil Patrick Harris, host of this year’s Creative Arts Emmy’s, raved that “Mandarin” was by far “his favorite,” of the twelve scents that M. Carlesimo offers. M. Carlesimo took the opportunity to launch our brand new diffusers to the public during the 2 days of the gifting at the suites. The diffusers bear the M. Carlesimo signature hand stamp and emit wonderful scents that seep through the reeds and lasts for months on end. World renowned author, Jackie Collins loved the Casablanca diffuser so much that we vowed to send here more asap! All of the twelve candle scents that we offer have matching diffusers that make a perfect gift… hint hint. Melora Hardin, who plays Jan on the Office, stopped by to talk shop as her alter ego on the show is in the candle business as well. Lucky for us she didn’t try to steal any ideas and actually loved our candles! We think that Jan should definitely go soy! Verne Troyer, aka “Mini Me” paid a visit paid us a visit as well and was a true character, can we say photo-op. We had a great time hanging out with the casts of the popular “Heroes,” “Lost,” “90210,” “Entourage,” and “Dancing with the Stars.” We got a lot of love for our 100% soy variety of candles and the deeply fragrant scents. Joey Lawrence even stopped by with his wife and daughter, who loved playing with the natural soy flakes that we had on display. Our most proud moment, however, came when everyone’s favorite mom, Phylicia Rashad, told us “thank you all for making good candles.” Aw shucks, anything for Mrs. Huxtable. Overall, this year’s Emmys represented a huge success for M. Carlesimo and we never could have imagined the amazing response that we would get from everyone involved. Who knows what’s in store for M. Carlesimo, hopefully even bigger and better things!
